Another Big story: When we first adopted Big Bird, he drove my husband crazy with his noise and aggression towards Olaf. Olaf gets migraines, so I had to at least consider giving up Big because of that. Olaf and I were discussing it in front of Biggie and I said with great sadness "But I would just hate to give him up." Biggie immediately said to me, with clear emotional and linguistic intent, "Oooooooooh... but I love you." That may not seem too odd to those of you that have parrots that use the phrase frequently, but let me say that Biggie had NEVER said that before and has never said it again! (He of course knew that he had me hooked and never had to pull out the big "I love you" guns again!) We have since actually remodeled our home in order to muffle Big's shrieks of joy when my husband has a migraine. My dear hubbie also knows without a doubt that Big stays and is family and will always be treated as such. What a skillful little Timneh Big Bird is.
