Our african grey is not quite 3years of age and we have had him since he was 12 weeks old. I bought it for my husband due to ill health he had to give up his occupation and with him at home all the time I thought this would be a great companion. How right I was, Norman pitkin as we named him started to talk very quickly, and is very intelligent, probably due to the constant attention he gets from my husband.One of the things that he says first thing on a morning when I am doing my hair is "Going to work for pennies" he never says it any other time of day.Also when I put my coat on he says Going for a walk with kane to the park" (kane is our dog). The wierdest thing was last year we had a german shepherd dog called Max who had'nt been well, we had quite a few visits to the vets for treatment. One day Norman came out with the words MAX IS DEAD. We were all in shock as no one had mentioned that he was poorly and certainly didnt say that phrase to the parrot. A few weeks later we had to have Max put to sleep.
